چکیده
This article presents a review of the fuse effect in polymer optical fibers (POFs) and its sensing applications. First, propagation mechanisms characteristics POF are discussed, showing that threshold power velocity much lower than those silica fiber fuse. In addition, it is shown main unique advantages capability transmitting signal as well electrical conductivity carbonized oscillatory path created core. The physical properties fused also described, such higher elasticity stability to external effects. Subsequently, some applications POFs reviewed, temperature, strain, force, angle sensors with sensitivity stabler operation nonfused POF-based sensors. Finally, future perspectives on where magnetic field plays an important role implementing devices. Thus, features can provide new paradigm for fibers, which be intentionally ignited fabrication novel in-fiber devices extended capabilities.

Propagation mechanism of polymer optical fiber fuse
A fiber fuse phenomenon in polymer optical fibers (POFs) has recently been observed, and its unique properties such as slow propagation, low threshold power density, and the formation of a black oscillatory damage curve, have been reported. However, its characterization is still insufficient to well understand the mechanism and to avoid the destruction of POFs. Here, we present detailed experim...

Micro-resonators (MR) have become a key element for integrated optical sensors due to their integration capability and their easy fabrication with low cost polymer materials. Nowadays, there is a growing need on MRs as highly sensitive and selective functions especially in the areas of food and health. The context of this work is to implement and study integrated micro-ring resonators devoted t...
متن کاملHigh-Tg TOPAS microstructured polymer optical fiber for fiber Bragg grating strain sensing at 110 degrees.
We present the fabrication and characterization of fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) in an endlessly single-mode microstructured polymer optical fiber (mPOF) made of humidity-insensitive high-Tg TOPAS cyclic olefin copolymer. The mPOF is the first made from grade 5013 TOPAS with a glass transition temperature of Tg = 135°C and we experimentally demonstrate high strain operation (2.5%) of the FBG at 9...
متن کاملPropose of a novel method to simulate and optimize a polymer optical fiber daylighting system
Optical fiber day lighting systems help the efficiency of using solar energy in the lighting system in domestic, industrial and agricultural sectors. A lot of work has been done on these systems, but the lack of a reliable simulation method to reduce the tolerance, time and cost is evident. In this regard, in this paper, a novel method based on two powerful Optifiber and Zemax software has bee...
